Guarnaschelli is the child of the cookbook editor Maria Guarnaschelli and John Guarnaschelli. Barnard College awarded her a degree with art history in the year 1991. The year she graduated, she worked an hourly wage at a place known as an American Place for one year. Guarnaschelli began her culinary journey by watching her mother prepare and edit the cookbooks she had written. Guarnaschelli's first job was with Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli went on to be employed at several restaurants in France and Los Angeles. Guy Savoy is the owner of La Butte Chaillot. Guarnaschelli also worked for Daniel Boulud's own restaurant, as well as Joachim Splichal's Patina before becoming the executive chef of Butter. The restaurant was closed in the summer of 2005. she served as the executive chef at the Darby. She serves as chairperson of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli's debut book was released. "Old School Comfort food and the way I learned cook" is a collection of autobiographical stories along with her top recipes from her books she's modified to her home. Jamie Jamie Jamie
