Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a popular public speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency is a site that hosts videos and commentaries looking at the portrayals of gender roles in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic that has received awards for her work, is a feminist blogger. She is the author and executive director of Feminist Frequency an educational not-for-profit site that examines the representation of women within popular stories of culture. Aiming to dispel the myths that are associated with women in pop media, she is also working with issues that relate to the gender-specific harassment of women as well as other classes of people on the internet. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in social thought and politics from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaker. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen Festival as well as to the United Nations Broadband Working Group. She was interested in feminist issues, gender and gender equality since a young time. In 2009, while continuing to study at the university level she started her Feminist Frequency site.
